Metafin Raises $10 Million to Power Rural India's Solar Revolution

Metafin, a prominent solar financing platform in India, has successfully raised $10 million in a Series A funding round to further its mission of increasing clean energy access in rural regions of the country. The funding round, consisting of both equity and debt, was led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with additional contributions from Prime Venture Partners, Varanium Capital, Northern Arc, and AU Small Finance Bank. This investment marks a significant step in Metafin's journey towards democratizing solar energy access, enhancing rural credit affordability, and scaling solar projects in underdeveloped areas. The company, which has already quadrupled its project portfolio and achieved profitability, plans to expand its market presence, strengthen its technological and credit infrastructure, and empower an additional million rural solar users by 2030. As Metafin continues to address the barriers of rural credit through its tech-integrated lending model, it remains instrumental in India's energy transition strategy.
