Masdar, Iberdrola to Co-Invest in UK Wind Farm

The Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Spanish energy giant Iberdrola are set to co-invest in the East Anglia Three wind farm in the United Kingdom, a project estimated at 5.2 billion euros ($6.1 billion). The wind farm, with a capacity of 1.4 GW, is planned to be located 69 kilometers off the Suffolk coast and includes an onshore cable route for energy transport. Masdar, of which the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) owns a 43% stake, will hold a 50% share of the wind farm, and Iberdrola will own the other half. Financing the project involves approximately 4.1 billion euros from 24 international banks. Initial operations are projected for Q4 of 2026.
