Lloyds Banking Names Magdalena Lis as Head of Responsible AI

Lloyds Banking Group has appointed Magdalena Lis as Head of Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) starting in February 2025. This strategic appointment comes as part of the group's ongoing effort to bolster its AI capabilities, coinciding with the recent recruitment of Dr. Rohit Dhawan as Director of AI and Advanced Analytics. Lloyds’ AI Centre of Excellence now employs over 200 specialists, including more than 30 with PhDs. Lis, who brings over 15 years of expertise in AI and has advised the UK Government, previously worked as Head of Analytics and Data Science at Toyota Connected Europe. Her new role involves pioneering next-generation technology to enhance Lloyds’ offerings while ensuring ethical AI implementations. The initiative reflects Lloyds’ dedication to leveraging AI to elevate banking services, ensuring ethical practices are upheld amid rapid technological advancements. Both Lis and Dhawan emphasized Lloyds’ commitment to innovation, marking a significant phase in the firm's digital transformation.
