Lenskart has begun construction on what will be the world's largest eyewear manufacturing facility in Tukkuguda, near Hyderabad, India. This development follows a memorandum of understanding that Lenskart signed with the Telangana government to invest Rs 1,500 crore in eyewear manufacturing. The new plant, alongside its existing facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, aims to be an integrated hub for frame, lens, and eyewear manufacturing and not only serve the Indian market but also export to Asia and the Middle East. Co-founded by Amit Chaudhary, Lenskart aims to have the first phase operational by the end of 2025, creating over 2,100 jobs at this 50-acre facility. The Telangana government claims this project highlights the state’s new status as a preferred destination for global industries. The facility promises advanced automation and precision engineering capabilities, reinforcing Telangana’s reputation as a hub for high-tech manufacturing and international trade.
