Lagfin Acquires Minority Stake in Bluegem Capital Partners

Lagfin, the controlling shareholder of the Campari Group, has acquired a significant minority stake, around 20%, in the private equity firm Bluegem Capital Partners. Bluegem specializes in the non-discretionary consumer goods segment, focusing on B2B and B2B2C markets. This investment not only highlights Lagfin's recognition of Bluegem's differentiated investment strategy but also supports a leadership transition within Bluegem as Emilio Di Spiezio Sardo takes over as CEO. In parallel, founder Marco Capello will step back from future investments, though still remain in charge of managing the existing portfolio. Additionally, Lagfin is negotiating to become a key investor in Bluegem's upcoming fund. Notably, the minority investment from Lagfin will not alter Bluegem's daily operations or its decision-making processes, ensuring continuity in its strategic vision. Legal advisory for this deal was provided by Latham & Watkins and Chiomenti for Bluegem, and PedersoliGattai for Lagfin.
