Kuwait Invites Bids for 500MW Solar Power Project

Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has invited prequalification applications for the development of a major 500MW solar photovoltaic power project, located in Jahra Governorate's Shagayah. This initiative will be executed under a public-private partnership model and is supported by a 30-year power purchase agreement with the Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy. The tender involves the design, finance, construction, operation, maintenance, and eventual transfer of the project. Submissions are open from May 18, 2025, to July 24, 2025. Several international and regional firms are already associated with related projects, highlighting a strong collaborative effort. KAPP, along with MEWRE, has engaged renowned advisors including Ernst & Young for financials, DLA Piper for legal, and DNV for technical and environmental guidance.
