Kanadevia Inova Takes Majority Stake in Dutch Biomethane Facility

Kanadevia Inova, a Swiss-based greentech company focused on energy transition, has taken its inaugural step into the Dutch biomethane market by acquiring a majority stake in Groengas Cothen B.V. through its subsidiary, Iona Capital. This acquisition forms part of a larger strategy to strengthen biomethane production across Europe and North America. The facility, located in the Wijk bij Duurstede municipality, is designed to handle 100GWh per annum using manure and residues and plans to capture biogenic CO2. BioValue, the initial facility owner, possesses a robust pipeline of anaerobic digester projects, making it an ideal candidate for further development under Kanadevia Inova's and Iona Capital's partnership. This move underscores Kanadevia’s commitment to expanding its influence in the European biomethane sector, with plans to leverage BioValue's operational expertise and development capabilities to achieve significant growth in the green utility and waste infrastructure sphere.
