The acquisition is a strategic move to broaden Kakaku's footprint in the lifestyle sector by leveraging LiPlus-H's platform, Liplus-S.com, which connects users with professionals for services like unwanted item collection and household problem resolution. With an intent to integrate its digital marketing expertise, Kakaku aims to establish a comprehensive lifestyle site, enhancing user convenience and providing a broader array of services. The company believes this will stimulate business growth within the vast lifestyle market and bolster corporate value for both entities. However, the financial specifics of the deal have not been disclosed. Founded in 1997, Kakaku is known for its diverse offerings, including the real estate marketplace Sumaity and the KyujinBox job site, which alone contributed to about a fifth of the group's consolidated revenue as of the third quarter ending December 2024.
