JW Lees toasts £1.8m EV charging deal

JW Lees, a prominent brewer and pub operator, has entered into a £1.8 million partnership with Be.EV, a national charge point operator, to bring ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities to its patrons. The initiative involves the deployment of 22 ultra-rapid charging bays at seven of JW Lees’ locations across the North West. The collaboration aims to upgrade existing charging infrastructure and better cater to the growing number of EV users. Out of the pubs involved, five locations including Urmston, The Millgate, The Aviator, The Bluebird Inn, and Duke of Gloucester have switched on their new chargers. Be.EV, a fast-growing EV charging network in the UK, has secured £110 million funding from Octopus Energy Generation and plans extensive expansion, aiming to address the increasingly essential EV charging needs across the UK. The partnership emphasizes providing reliable and convenient charging solutions to enhance customer experience, with leadership from both companies expressing commitment to sustainable development and innovations in EV infrastructure.
