John Lyttle to Join M&S Amid Leadership Changes

Marks & Spencer (M&S) has announced significant leadership changes, marking a new strategic phase for the retail giant. John Lyttle, who was previously the CEO at boohoo Group plc, is set to succeed Richard Price as the managing director of clothing, home, and beauty at M&S. He will join the company on 3rd March and undergo a transition phase with current director Price, who will leave at the end of April to pursue a portfolio career. Lyttle, with a rich background in retail, including roles at Primark, Matalan, and Arcadia, is expected to drive growth in M&S's clothing and home divisions. Concurrently, M&S has appointed Maddy Evans as the director of M&S Woman, expanding her current role in womenswear to include lingerie. Additionally, David Brittain from Amazon Fashion will become the director of home & beauty at the end of April, taking over from Heidi Woodhouse. The changes reflect a strategic focus on enhancing operational efficiency, supply chain transformation, and developing an omnichannel retail experience. CEO Stuart Machin acknowledged Richard Price's contributions to the company’s increased market share and sales growth, while expressing optimism about the new leadership team's ability to drive further transformation.
