JEC Group Sold to Obara Group by NSSK II

Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko Ltd. (NSSK) has announced that its investment partnerships, managed under the NSSK II banner, have agreed to sell all shares of JEC Group to Obara Group Inc. JEC Group is a prominent Japanese manufacturer of electric power transmission components, headquartered in Ishioka, Ibaraki. JEC also manufactures charging connectors for electric vehicles, catering to domestic and European markets, and partners with large electric power companies including the Tokyo Electric Power Company. Since NSSK's investment in JEC in October 2021, the group has become a standalone entity following a carve-out, with strengthened governance, ESG initiatives, and strategic sales efforts among power utilities. Obara Group, with its expertise in resistance welding and surface polishing equipment, intends to leverage its technological prowess and global network to further bolster JEC's market position. The acquisition aims to enhance JEC's growth by sharing R&D capabilities, increasing sales, and attracting top talent, while NSSK hopes this transition will maintain enduring relationships. NSSK's broader mission is to solidify its role in Japan's alternative asset investment space by focusing on ESG goals and leveraging global investment disciplines.
