Indie Semiconductor's Strategic Acquisition of Emotion3D for $20M

In a strategic move, Indie Semiconductor, a developer of innovative semiconductor solutions for automotive and industrial applications, has acquired Emotion3D. Emotion3D, based in Vienna, specializes in advanced perception software designed for in-cabin sensing, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and automated driving technologies. The acquisition was facilitated by legal advisories from Schoenherr for the buyer and DKFE, alongside Petsch Frosch Klein Arturo, for the sellers. Under the agreement, Indie Semiconductor will disburse $20 million in cash at closing, and up to an additional $10 million in performance-based earnouts contingent on revenue targets being met by February 2027. This acquisition signifies Indie's commitment to advancing its capabilities in automotive technology. The legal advisory teams included prominent partners and associates from both firms.
