IGI Secures Majority Stake in Meter, Ushering in Strategic Growth

In a significant transaction, IGI, an independent private equity firm focused on the Italian mid-market, acquired a majority stake in Meter, a renowned manufacturer of specialized ball and roller bearings. This strategic acquisition aligns with IGI's investment strategy which is centered on the sustainable transformation of family businesses. Vittorio Musso, the current CEO, reinvests, maintaining a 40% share and continues to manage the company alongside his sons, Filippo and Corrado. The transaction also involves co-investors Crédit Agricole Italia, through Amundi Private Equity Italia, and Banca IFIS. A comprehensive support network of advisors participated in the acquisition process. Euromerger Italia acted as a financial advisor for IGI, while Ethica Group provided debt advisory services. Legal structure and due diligence were managed by Chiomenti, Offitkurman, and JunHe. Business, financial, and specialized due diligences were conducted by Goetzpartners, KPMG, ERM, and Prometeia respectively. Crédit Agricole Italia not only financed the deal but also made an equity investment alongside IGI through Amundi Private Equity Italia. Additional financial support was provided by BPER Banca, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, and Green Arrow Capital SGR through a mezzanine financing of 13 million euros. B&B di E.
