Hines and Healthpeak Announce Strategic Partnership for Cambridge Point Development

Hines, a prominent global real estate investment manager, has formed a strategic partnership with Healthpeak Properties, Inc., a leading provider of real estate for healthcare, to advance the residential components of the Cambridge Point master-planned district in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The plan, located in the Alewife neighborhood and encompassing a potential five million square feet, will feature multifamily residential units, research and lab spaces, as well as neighborhood retail areas. Construction for the first residential building is set to begin within 12 months of receiving entitlements, expected in late 2026. The development aims to blend residential, commercial, and research spaces in a cohesive, transit-oriented design, providing substantial open green spaces and improved infrastructure, including a crucial pedestrian bridge to the MBTA red line. Hines has extensive experience in the Boston area, highlighted by previous projects and its ongoing $3 billion developments, including South Station Tower. This joint effort seeks to establish Cambridge Point as a vibrant center within Greater Boston's life sciences ecosystem, reflecting and enhancing the community's values and built environment.
