Hellas Verona Changes Hands to American Firm Presidio

Presidio Investors, a private equity firm based in Austin, Texas, has acquired 100% of Hellas Verona Football Club from the Italian entrepreneur Maurizio Setti. The transaction was facilitated by legal counsel Hogan Lovells for Presidio and Unilegal for Setti. The multidisciplinary legal team from Hogan Lovells worked on various aspects of the deal, including M&A, employment, and fiscal matters, supplemented by their Global Sports Practice Team. On the seller side, Unilegal handled the legal intricacies for Setti. The acquisition process was supported by Deloitte's Sports Business Group for due diligence and Deutsche Bank Corporate Advisory served as financial advisor to Setti. The transaction also involved operations notarization by Znr Notai. Post-acquisition, the club will see a change in governance: Italo Zanzi will chair the new board with Maurizio Setti assuming the role of senior advisor. The leadership team is complemented by Simona Gio, Gennaro Leo, and Sean Foley.
