Gul Ahmed: Acquires Gallant Energy with CCP Approval

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has approved the acquisition of Gallant Energy (Private) Limited by Gul Ahmed Holdings (Private) Limited. Gul Ahmed Holdings will acquire 100% of Gallant Energy under a Share Purchase Agreement. As a result, the company will gain control of an entity that operates in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market, a key energy source for Pakistan's residential and industrial sectors. Gallant Energy currently holds less than 1% market share in the LPG sector, and the acquisition is expected to marginally increase Gul Ahmed's market position. The CCP conducted a thorough evaluation and concluded that the transaction would not establish a dominant position in the LPG market, in compliance with the Competition Act and Merger Regulations. CCP's approval underlines its dedication to fostering competition and efficiency in the market, ensuring benefits for businesses and consumers.
