GSSG Chikuden Launches with $400M from Vision Ridge

GSSG Chikuden, LLC, a newly formed utility-scale battery storage developer, has announced the launch of its operations supported by a significant $400 million investment from Vision Ridge Partners. This venture is a joint collaboration between Vision Ridge and GSSG Solar, LLC, aimed at accelerating the energy transition in Japan through the development, construction, and operation of battery energy storage systems across the Japanese power grid. GSSG Chikuden possesses an existing pipeline of projects with secured grid connections and aims to acquire further projects to enhance its impact. Vision Ridge, having invested in GSSG Solar since 2014, extends its commitment to sustainable energy development and sees battery storage as a critical component of the future energy economy. This launch reflects the continued partnership between Vision Ridge and GSSG Solar, building on previous successes like the growth of Key Capture Energy, a US-based energy storage developer.
