Grupo Saeta Secures €340M for Renewable Energy Expansion

Uría Menéndez, an Iberian law firm, has advised Grupo Saeta on a financing arrangement amounting to €340 million, facilitated by a consortium of national and international banks and financial institutions. The financing is intended to support the enhancement and hybridization of wind farms in Penamacor and Sabugal, Portugal, increasing their capacity from 144 MW to 164 MW, alongside integrating up to 120 MW of photovoltaic power plants. The firm provided comprehensive legal guidance through all aspects of the project finance process, including due diligence, financial structuring, and documentation. This investment marks a pivotal development in Portugal's renewable energy sector, enhancing the country's wind and solar capabilities. The transaction team headed by José António Reymão Nogueira, with Diogo Zambujo, and supported by Marta Pontes on tax matters, underscores a significant stride toward energy innovation and growth.
