Gavan Secures USD8M to Advance Plant-Based Fat Innovation

Deal News | Dec 10, 2024 | PR Newswire Cision Gavan Technologies, Ltd.

Gavan Technologies, a FoodTech startup based in Caesarea, Israel, has successfully raised USD8M in A-round funding to support the commercialization of its innovative plant protein-based fat product, Fatrix®. Spearheaded by the Israeli venture capital firm MoreVC, and backed by investors such as Lever VC, EIT Food, and DarkBoot Group, the funding will facilitate Gavan's entry into the European market by establishing a pilot production facility. Fatrix® is an all-natural fat substitute, compatible with a variety of bakery and dairy applications, offering a healthier and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional animal fats. Gavan's proprietary technology enables the optimal binding of protein, water, and oil, allowing the product to replicate the mouthfeel and functionality of butter without trans fats or animal derivatives. The new European facility is scheduled to commence operations by April 2025, driving forward Gavan's sustainable and innovative agenda in the food industry.
