Galaxy Education Secures $10 Million Funding Amid EdTech Sector Challenges

Galaxy Education (GE), a leading Vietnamese education technology company, has secured nearly $10 million in funding, primarily from East Ventures and a consortium of other investors. This investment, which occurs amidst a challenging EdTech market landscape, is noted as one of Vietnam's largest in the sector. Despite prevailing industry difficulties, GE achieved full company-wide profitability by the first quarter of 2025 and had already turned positive EBITDA for its K-12 vertical since April 2024. The investment will enable GE to expand its national English as a Second Language (ESL) program, which aligns with governmental directives to enhance English proficiency across Vietnam, particularly targeting underserved communities and public schools. GE's strategy, underpinned by an AI-powered learning platform, reinforces its capacity to deliver scalable and affordable educational solutions. With profitability and a significant portfolio of educational brands, including HOCMAI, ICAN, and FUNiX, GE services over 8 million learners globally, marking it as a prominent and resilient participant in Southeast Asia's EdTech sector.
