Frigomeccanica Acquired by Middleby Corporation

Middleby Corporation, a leading manufacturer of equipment for commercial foodservice, food processing, and residential kitchen sectors, has completed the acquisition of Frigomeccanica. The Italian company, based in Sala Baganza (Parma), specializes in food industry solutions such as aging, fermentation, refrigeration, and preservation processes, and records an annual revenue of approximately 30 million euros. This strategic acquisition is set to bolster Middleby’s growth in key areas including meat, deli, and prepared foods. The transaction was legally advised by Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom alongside Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati for Middleby, and Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici on behalf of the selling shareholders. Tim FitzGerald, CEO of Middleby, highlighted Frigomeccanica’s complementary product expertise and engineering capabilities, anticipated to harness Middleby’s extensive customer base and global sales network, ultimately enhancing product shelf life and meeting the increasing global demand for protein sources.
