Freedom Asset Management Group has launched its first Hong Kong-based fund, Freedom Dragon Funds I OFC, with the legal counsel of Charles Russell Speechlys. The fund is set up as a private umbrella open-ended fund company with variable share capital and segregated liability between sub-funds. It is registered with Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission. The CQF Sub-Fund, part of the newly established structure, aims to allocate capital to PRC onshore hedge funds employing long/short strategies focusing on equities. Freedom Asset Management (Asia), a licensed SFC-regulated entity, will manage the fund. The Freedom Group, managing US$1 billion in assets, is expanding its reach in the Greater China and APAC region, further strengthened by their partnership with Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners.
