Fondo Italiano d'Investimento Bolsters FICC II with €503 Million

Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR has successfully concluded a new fundraising round of €503 million for its FICC II fund, following a prior closing of €400 million. Key to this expansion are Italian and foreign investors, including newcomer LGT Capital Partners, a global leader in alternative investments. FICC II, with senior partners Gianpaolo Di Dio, Aldo Di Bernardo, and Marzia Bartolomei Corsi at the helm, aims to promote the growth of prominent Italian sectors such as Made in Italy, Information Technology, and Lifescience & Healthcare, aligning with ESG criteria under article 8 of SFDR. Gianpaolo Di Dio highlighted the renewing confidence from institutional investors and a unique investment strategy focused on the aggregation of Italian excellence supply chains. Successful exits in Maticmind, Florence, and Marval have led to substantial returns to investors despite market challenges. The remaining portfolio, including firms like Mecaer, HNH, and RINA—the first investment of FICC II—positions the fund optimistically for the future. The involvement of LGT Capital Partners and other potential investors marks a strategic milestone towards expanding the fund's size, with further closings anticipated.
