Fnac Darty, a leading European retail group specializing in entertainment, electronics, and appliances, has received unconditional approval from the European Commission to acquire Unieuro. This acquisition marks a strategic advancement for Fnac Darty, significantly enhancing its presence in Southern and Western Europe with projected revenues exceeding €10 billion, employment for 30,000 individuals, and a network of over 1,500 stores. The transaction is conducted under Italy's financial market regulations, and thus the offer and purchase obligation procedure is exclusively available to Italian shareholders, as stipulated in Legislative Decree No. 58. Notably, the acquisition activities and related legal procedures do not extend to the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, or other countries with conflicting local financial market regulations. Fnac Darty continues to expand its omnichannel presence, with significant online sales and engagement across its multiple e-commerce platforms.
