Five Bays Capital, a private investment firm focused on high-growth and mission-driven companies, has acquired Firezat, a leader in wildfire structure protection. Founded in 2006, Firezat has been instrumental in supplying its patented aluminum-based Wildfire Ember Shields and Wildfire Fire Shields that protect structures from the dangers of radiant heat and ember ignitions. These shields are highly regarded by the US Forest Service and other firefighting agencies for safeguarding infrastructure. As wildfires, particularly in California and other high-risk states, grow in severity, there's a heightened demand for reliable wildfire protection solutions. The partnership is not just about expanding business but is also seen as a personal mission by Mike Lloyd, founding partner of Five Bays Capital and ex-co-founder of Corvus Insurance. With rising wildfire risks leading to increased insurance rates and market withdrawal by insurers, there's an urgent call to scale Firezat's technology.
