Farmers Co-op Oil Co. Expands Footprint with Acquisition of FillMeUp Stores

Farmers Co-op Oil Co. of Renville, Minnesota, has expanded its footprint by acquiring 10 convenience stores from FillMeUp LLC. The transaction, completed on January 13th, allows Farmers Co-op to enhance its presence in the western part of the state. The cooperative, which focuses on fuel, convenience, and food services, plans to remodel the acquired locations and rebrand them under its own name, aligning fuel offerings with BP and Amoco brands while integrating its signature c-store brand. CEO Todd Busche emphasized the co-op's commitment to growth, citing multiple inquiries from other chains interested in selling. The company's expansion strategy includes enhancing food services chain-wide and maintaining community involvement, a value driven by its board of directors. The acquisition has resulted in retaining all existing staff from the acquired stores and an additional recruitment drive to support operations. Farmers Co-op operates a wide range of services including gas stations, propane delivery, and other bulk fuel services within a 40-mile radius of its core locations in Minnesota.
