Evelyn Partners Welcomes Bahador Mahvelati as New COO

In a strategic move reflecting its refocus on wealth management, Evelyn Partners has appointed Bahador Mahvelati as its new COO. Mahvelati, known as Bids, is transitioning from PwC UK where he served as a strategy and operations partner. The appointment is seen as a pivotal development for the Manchester-based firm, which aims to leverage Mahvelati’s extensive experience in senior advisory roles and operations in shaping its future direction. Mahvelati, who has operational experience with UBS Investment Bank and Natwest Group, will take charge of leading cross-functional change programs encompassing client journey enhancements, tech, data security, operations, M&A, and other central services. This transition follows the sale of Evelyn Partners' professional services and fund solutions businesses and the stepping down of former COO Mayank Prakash. Mahvelati has been working alongside Prakash in an advisory role for the past year to align with the company’s strategy. CEO Paul Geddes expressed optimism about Mahvelati joining at a crucial juncture, emphasizing the growth opportunities in the wealth management sector. The firm is poised to explore new transformations with Mahvelati bringing strategic insights and practical solutions to facilitate Evelyn Partners’ growth trajectory.
