This funding will support Equifinance in originating second lien residential mortgage loans and aligns with Castlelake’s expertise in the UK mortgage market. Castlelake’s Partner, Alexander Curcio, noted the potential for risk-adjusted returns and growth in the UK second lien mortgage sector. Equifinance’s CFO, Chris Payne, expressed that the financing would enhance their lending capabilities. Castlelake has extensive experience in asset-based investments and manages about $25 billion in assets, while Equifinance has originated over £600 million in second lien mortgages since 2012.
