Alternative Capital Partners Sgr (Acp Sgr), on behalf of the Sustainable Securities Fund (Ssf), has completed its ninth infrastructure investment aimed at supporting Italy's energy transition. The fund has invested in Energethica Favria for the construction of a biogas plant designed to produce biomethane from agricultural waste, with a production capacity of 250 smc/h. The project, located in Favria, is expected to process 80,000 tons of organic material per year, significantly reducing CO2 emissions by 8,700 tons annually. MondoPower, an Italian firm with expertise in renewable energy, will act as the general contractor through its subsidiary Ferplant. The project's total cost is €10.3 million, with Ssf contributing €3.6 million in subordinated debt and minority equity, and the remaining €5.8 million financed through a green loan by BCC Banca ICCREA and Banca D'Alba. The biogas plant, supported by financial contributions from GSE's 2022 biomethane bid and a comprehensive tariff for a 15-year term, aligns with Ssf's sustainability objectives and diversification strategy.
