In the second half of this year, Egco, the power generation sector of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, aims to secure four to five new mergers and acquisitions as part of its ongoing global expansion strategy. Recently investing in a Taiwanese wind farm, Egco is focusing on expanding its renewable energy portfolio internationally. The Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan, where Egco holds a 26.5% stake, is expected to generate 2 billion baht annually over the first five years. The company is also eyeing US ventures, including a prominent gas pipeline project in Alaska, and has already acquired a 49% share in a portfolio that includes renewable energy assets in Maine and Ohio.
