EEDEN, a start-up focused on addressing challenges in the textile industry, has secured a significant investment to further develop its chemical recycling technology. This technology is capable of recovering pure cellulose and PET from cotton-polyester blends, enabling the production of virgin-quality fibers. The newly acquired capital will be used to construct a demonstration plant in Münster, optimize processing on a large scale, and establish partnerships within the textile industry. The Forbion BioEconomy Fund, alongside NRW.Venture, co-invested in this venture, focusing on companies that leverage biotechnology.
