DunPort Capital Management DAC, a prominent Irish asset management firm, has received a significant boost with the British Business Bank committing £90m to its SME credit fund. Founded in 2017, DunPort focuses on providing debt and hybrid capital solutions for SMEs across Ireland, the UK, and the Benelux region. The commitment from the British Business Bank, which is the UK's national economic development bank, aligns with its mission to enhance access to finance for smaller businesses and facilitate sustainable growth. The British Business Bank’s core programmes have already supported £17.4bn of finance to nearly 64,000 smaller businesses, and it also played a crucial role in administering the UK government's Coronavirus loan schemes. Through its investment in DunPort, the Bank aims to increase the diversity and supply of finance available for UK SMEs, supporting a transition towards a net zero economy.
