Dote to Launch Baby Monitoring Products with £1.15m Seed Funding

In a significant move for the parenting technology sector, Dote, a Manchester-based company, has successfully raised £1.15 million in seed funding to accelerate the launch of its innovative baby monitoring products. Founded by Ste Senior in 2018, the company aims to alleviate the growing stresses faced by contemporary parents. Dote's technology, poised for a retail debut across the UK in 2025, features an integrated in-and-out-of-home ecosystem comprising an AI-powered smart baby monitor, app, advanced strollers, travel systems, a car seat, and a cot. The standout feature, the Dote Buddy monitor, offers seamless usability by transitioning between parenting tools while providing real-time insights into a child's well-being. The latest funding round was spearheaded by a Dubai-based investment group, with additional contributions from business and technology investors like Luke Pilfold-Thomas and Dominic Miller. This investment follows a previous pre-seed funding of £600,000. Key management team figures include COO Ralph Wood, formerly of Dyson, CTO George Goudie, and CMO Denise Namakando, with notable experience from Dyson, Unilever, and Owlet Baby Care. Dote is also building academic collaborations with universities across the UK to support paediatric research institutions, focusing on improving early childhood support through technology.
