Baker McKenzie and its Turkish affiliate Esin Attorney Partnership have successfully advised DFDS, a Danish international shipping and logistics company, on the acquisition of Ekol Transport. Ekol Logistics and the international transport network linking Turkiye and Europe were sold to DFDS by multiple stakeholders led by founder Ahmet Musul. The aim of the acquisition is to expand DFDS's reach across Europe. Esin Attorney Partnership played a pivotal role in facilitating the deal, with a legal team led by Managing Partner Eren Kursun. Baker McKenzie activated a multinational team of lawyers with members across Warsaw, Budapest, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, France, and the Netherlands to synchronize international legal efforts with local needs. The acquisition was further supported by Turkish law firm Caliskan Okkan Toker, who represented the sellers.
