Danish Sun Energy Sells Solar and BESS Project to Sunotec in Latvia

Danish Sun Energy, a prominent renewable energy developer with projects spanning across Denmark, Spain, and the Baltics, has sold a significant co-located solar and battery energy storage project in Latvia to Sunotec, a European renewable energy construction company. The transaction facilitated by Sorainen includes the full acquisition of SIA DSE Lazas Solar, which has development rights for a 400 MW-peak photovoltaic plant, along with an integrated 600 MWh battery storage system, all set to be developed near Padure, Latvia. The total estimated investment for the project is up to EUR 245 million, with commissioning expected by March 2027. The first phase reached ready-to-build status in June 2025, and construction is scheduled to commence in July 2025, including collaborative efforts with the Latvian TSO AS Augstsprieguma Tikls.
