CRC Group Agrees to Acquire Atrium Underwriting Group

CRC Group, a wholesale specialty insurance distributor based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has agreed to acquire Atrium Underwriting Group, a Lloyd's managing agency. This move represents CRC Group's first expansion outside of North America. Atrium, which manages Syndicate 609 and specializes in property, casualty, and specialty insurance and reinsurance, will retain its brand and operate independently under CRC Group. The acquisition is backed by investment funds managed by Stone Point Capital, among others. Although the financial specifics were not disclosed, Atrium reported $1.3 billion in gross written premium in 2024. The transaction is pending customary approvals and is expected to conclude in the third quarter. Both companies highlight the strategic alignment and future growth potential as core motivations for the deal.
