Cooper Parry Partners with Lee Equity to Transform UK's Professional Services

Deal News | Dec 10, 2024 | Lee Equity Partners LLC

In a significant development in the UK's professional services sector, Cooper Parry (CP), a prominent accounting and advisory firm, has secured a majority investment from funds managed by Lee Equity Partners, a New York-based private equity firm. This new strategic partnership is set to accelerate Cooper Parry's efforts in creating the UK's next-generation professional services group. Over the past two years, the Derby-based firm has seen extraordinary growth, completing 11 transactions that expanded its capabilities and market presence. The firm has quadrupled its turnover to £180 million, largely due to strategic acquisitions such as Haines Watts London and Cloud Orca. Cooper Parry's CEO, Ade Cheatham, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, citing cultural alignment and shared ambitions with Lee Equity. This investment follows the firm's previous backing by Waterland Private Equity, which supported its growth across the UK. As part of the transaction, Arcmont Asset Management has increased its credit facility to support further growth. The deal is set to close in the first half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
