Commonfund Grows Investments with Diverse Managers

In an increased effort to enhance returns and diversify portfolios, Commonfund Capital Inc. reported growth in its investments with diverse asset managers. Over 12 percent of Commonfund's assets are now managed by diverse managers, a figure that represents a successful strategy to integrate diversity into their investment approach. As of the end of 2024, Commonfund had allocated funds to 50 diverse managers, compared to 44 the previous year. These managers cover every asset class in which Commonfund invests, showcasing the firm's commitment to diversification of both ethnicity and gender in its management lineup. Ethnically, 31 percent of assets are with African American managers, 22 percent with managers of two or more races, while 30 percent are managed by those of Asian descent. White women account for 11 percent, and Latino managers hold 4 percent of these assets. Gender diversity is also significant, with 26 percent of assets managed by African American women and 48 percent with women of color more broadly. This strategy underscores Commonfund's dedication to sourcing investment talent and recognizing its potential regardless of background, ultimately enhancing portfolio diversification and client outcomes.
