Cogito Capital Partners Announces First Closing of Cogito Fund II
Funding | Nov 15, 2024 | Cogito Capital Partners

Cogito Capital Partners, a venture capital firm based in Warsaw and New York, has announced the first closing of its Cogito Fund II with a capital target of €125 million. The new fund currently has over €90 million available for investments, allowing Cogito to continue focusing on late-stage or early-growth investments in European technology companies. These companies predominantly operate in the B2B segments of enterprise software, fintech, and healthtech sectors, particularly those with potential for global expansion. Established by Sylwester Janik and Martin Jasinski, Cogito aims to support international scaling operations towards the US and other global markets. Since 2019, Cogito has invested in companies such as Finom, HigoSense, and Applica, among others. The firm gained recognition for their exit in 2022 when Applica was acquired by Snowflake, earning them awards from the Polish Association of Capital Investors. The second fund is supported by various institutional investors, including the EIF, EBRD, IFC, PFR, and other notable entities from Europe and the US. Cogito Capital's strategy leverages a capital gap in early growth tech companies in Europe, with Sylwester Janik emphasizing the growth potential in Central Europe's tech sector. Bartomiej Samsonowicz of PFR Ventures highlighted the positive impact of Cogito's work on the Polish venture capital market.
