CityFibre strengthens foothold with Connexin acquisition

CityFibre, an independent full fibre platform, has completed the acquisition of Connexin’s full fibre infrastructure. The deal marks a significant expansion for CityFibre, offering a stronger position in the Hull and East Riding areas and increasing its potential footprint by up to 185,000 premises. This acquisition also brings Connexin's network assets, which include 80,000 currently passed premises and ongoing projects for an additional 20,000. This move aligns with CityFibre’s strategy of market consolidation to reach over 8 million premises nationwide. The agreement also includes Project Gigabit contracts aimed at providing broadband to rural areas in Nottinghamshire and West Lincolnshire. In turn, Connexin will leverage CityFibre’s network for its national growth strategy, focusing on IoT innovations and an expanded service portfolio.
