Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has announced the appointment of Christian Schulz as its new Chief Economist, effective from July 1, 2025. Schulz will lead the Global Economics & Strategy team, tasked with producing macroeconomic research and market insights to guide investment portfolios and inform clients. He joins AllianzGI from Citigroup Global Markets, where he served as Deputy Chief European Economist. Christian Schulz will report directly to Michael Krautzberger, CIO Public Markets at AllianzGI.
