CH4 Global Opens Revolutionary Asparagopsis Seaweed Facility

Four years after initial investment by DCVC Management Co LLC, CH4 Global has opened the world's first commercial-scale facility for the production of Asparagopsis, a type of seaweed that can significantly reduce methane emissions from cattle. The newly launched facility in South Australia represents a major advancement in climate change mitigation. Asparagopsis is known to cut cattle methane emissions by up to 90% and features prominently in CH4's Methane Tamer supplement. The EcoPark facility's initial phase will produce 80 metric tons of Methane Tamer annually, with plans to expand its capacity tenfold within a year. Numerous corporations are embracing the innovation, evidenced by investments and partnerships with Chipotle and Mitsubishi Corporation. The production model is poised for global expansion, offering a viable solution to one of the largest sources of anthropogenic methane emissions.
