Bioniq, a London-based health tech startup, has secured investment from Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot, making him the latest football star to buy into the company's mission of personalised health products. Dalot’s investment of £840,000 marks another endorsement from the football world, adding to the involvement of Cristiano Ronaldo who backed the company last year, bringing its valuation to $82 million. Founded in 2019, Bioniq specialises in health optimisation through supplements and products tailored to individual health needs. The startup has leveraged Ronaldo's influence in its marketing strategy. Bioniq's founder Vadim Fedotov, who was a former basketball player, emphasises the alignment of Dalot's commitment to performance optimisation with Bioniq's vision. The company has raised over $40 million with support from investors such as HV Capital, Unbound, OKS Group, and Medsi Group. The investments from high-profile players signal confidence in the startup, despite the generally mixed track record of athletes as investors.
