Bain Capital Credit Boosts Portfolio with $6bn Investment

Bain Capital Credit LP's private credit group has significantly increased its footprint in 2024 with a substantial investment of $6 billion (approximately €4.77 billion) across middle-market and private equity-backed companies. The investment was allocated across 97 diverse deals, focusing on refinancing, leveraged buyouts, and add-on acquisitions. Notably, Bain served as the majority lender for about 70% of these new commitments, maintaining a weighted average portfolio company EBITDA of $46 million. Reflecting on Bain's historical context, the private credit group has, since its inception, deployed over $25 billion spread across 540 portfolio companies, delivering comprehensive financing packages to businesses with EBIDTA ranging between $10 million and $150 million in key markets, including North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Heading into 2025, Bain is optimistic about its active investment pipeline, envisioning continued partnership with middle market companies and private equity sponsors. As of December 31, 2024, Bain managed $16 billion in capital, underscoring the firm's influential presence in the industry.
