Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India to Merge, Forming Top Hospital Entity

Aster DM Healthcare Ltd and Blackstone-backed Quality Care India Ltd have finalized a merger deal through a share swap arrangement, forming one of the top three hospital chains in India. The newly formed entity, Aster DM Quality Care Ltd, will span 38 hospitals with over 10,150 beds across 27 cities in South and Central India. The merger is expected to complete by the third quarter of FY2025-26, subject to regulatory approvals. Aster will acquire a 5% stake in QCIL from Blackstone and TPG, while Aster's promoters and Blackstone will retain 24% and 30.7% ownership of the merged entity. Azad Moopen, Aster's Founder and Chairman, will continue as Executive Chairman, with QCIL's Varun Khanna as Group MD and CEO.
