Arpinge Acquires 100% Stake in BESS Projects; WFW and Baker McKenzie Advise

Arpinge Energy Efficiency & Renewables (Aeer), a subsidiary of Arpinge, has acquired 100% of the capital of three companies, owners of projects for the construction of state-of-the-art battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a combined capacity of approximately 310 MW. These projects are to be developed in the provinces of Benevento, Catania, and Syracuse. The transaction was executed in partnership with Powerminds Storage, a group company of Emeren, known for solar project development. Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) counselled Aeer on the legal aspects of the framework agreement, purchase, and development service contracts, while Baker McKenzie advised Powerminds on similar matters, with strong legal representation from both firms. The collaboration agreement also sees Powerminds focusing on the development and design of BESS projects.
