Anima Holding Adds 3% Stake in Banca Monte Paschi di Siena

Anima Holding has successfully acquired an additional 3% stake in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (BMPS) for approximately €219 million. The transaction is part of an accelerated bookbuilding procedure initiated by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance to divest a portion of its holdings in the bank. This acquisition brings Anima's total stake in the bank to around 4%. Anima Holding's CEO, Alessandro Melzi d'Eril, remarked on the strategic importance of strengthening relations with BMPS, highlighting the successful partnership over the past 15 years. The settlement of the transaction is scheduled for November 18, 2024. This acquisition is a testament to Anima's commitment to long-term collaboration with BMPS, following its previous participation in BMPS's 2022 capital raise.
