AnaCap, a private equity firm focused on the European financial services sector, has acquired a majority stake in Edge, a significant player in the Italian insurance brokerage market. This acquisition is one of the first for AnaCap’s new fund and marks their second investment in Italy. Edge, headquartered in Milan and founded in 2014, is renowned for its comprehensive and customized insurance solutions, serving a diverse range of clients. The existing management team, led by CEO Manfredo Sciarretta, will continue to direct Edge, aiming to enhance its status as a leader in insurance intermediation in Italy. AnaCap's prior successful investment in MRH Trowe, which underwent 21 acquisitions in a short span, mirrors its strategic growth plans for Edge in the fragmented Italian brokerage market. Edge has already completed over 12 acquisitions independently since 2019, and AnaCap's investment will support ongoing strategies, increasing Edge's gross premiums surpassed 100 million euros, positioning it among Italy's top ten brokerage groups.
