In a strategic move within the retail sector, D&B David and Baias, an affiliate of PwC in Romania, has provided legal counsel to the Altex group on its acquisition of Brico Depot's Romanian operations from Kingfisher. Romanian entrepreneur Dan Ostahie, the owner of Altex, aims to expand his business footprint in the DIY and home furnishing market through this acquisition. The transaction, however, is still pending approval from relevant regulatory authorities. Kingfisher, the seller of the Brico Depot Romanian network, was advised by law firms Filip & Company and A&O Shearman.
