Al Othaim Scraps Acquisition Plan for Ebdaa Al Qasr

Saudi Al Othaim Markets has announced the termination of its plan to acquire a 51% stake in Ebdaa Al Qasr, a retailer known for its premium Manuel Market chain. The original non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in March 2025 with Abdulilah Ahmed Al-Darwish and Al-Musbah Global Trading Co. This strategic move to enhance Al Othaim's presence in the consumer and food products sector could not be finalized as the involved parties were unable to reach a conclusive agreement. The failure to close the deal was shared in a statement to the bourse. The MoU was an effort to extend Al Othaim Markets' portfolio in the retail industry but has now been officially scrapped.
